Kim Beom Leads a New Generation of Hallyu

Actor Kim Beom of the “Boys of Flowers” fame is emerging as a new Hallyu star. His new film “Flight (Korean title Bisang)” has been sold to Japan even before the filming began. Japanese investors, Glory Entertainment and World Apple Corp., purchased the rights to the film’s theater presentation, DVD, and merchandising rights, demonstrating their affection and trust for the young actor. In addition to the film, Kim’s new drama, “Dream,” to be aired later this year has also been sold to Japan, as well as TV shows and movies he formerly appeared in.

If Bae Yong-joon and Choi Ji-woo represented the first generation of Hallyu, Kim Beom is expected to lead the second wave of Korean pop culture in Japan. While the fans of the first Hallyu generation consist largely of homemakers in their 30s and 40s, those for Kim are much younger, from teenagers to women in their 20s.

Kim’s new film “Flight” is about the emotional conflicts experienced during adolescent years. The film is expected to generate positive feedback from Japan, given that it talks about common concerns of young people everywhere. “Flight” is due for release later this year.

12 Days Into Debut Single ‘FIRE’ Makes 200 Million Won

Girl group 2NE1 has renacted their sibling group Big Bang’s “hundred million apotheosis (?)

2NE1 had released their single (Fire) on the 6th and just after 12 days have made sales records of over a hundred million won. 2NE1 consists of Park Bom, Sandara Park, Gong Minji, and CL who are planning to release a mini album and start their activities in the beginning of next month.

Kim Bum drops movie 71

Kim Bum has decided to drop his movie ’71′. Earlier this year, Kim Bum along with Big Bang’s Seung-ri and Yoo Seung Ho was reported to have been cast in the war movie.

He will also be in the SBS drama Dream and had to make an emergency decision to drop ’71′ due to a clash in his shooting schedule. Lee Min Ho of “BOF” will go on Asian promotion

LMH will visit major Asian countries from June till September and meet fans face to face.
From the Taiwan promo in early June, China in July, Philippines in August and Japan in September
Japan promo will be final.

2NE1 member Sandara Park explains the photos of her and her ex boyfriend surfaced on the internet.
