Another day, another artist singing about an imaginary breakup. Like a certain husband of mine, Solbi decided to go the ugly, cheap way of making a music video…with clips of herself at a photoshoot as well as in the studio. Bleh.

Her latest music video was released yesterday and the song is the emotional telling of a woman begging a man not to dump her…and after he does it anyway, she threatens that it will happen to him one day. Oh wow…sounds familiar? Of course it does. Check it out, and thanks to nuss Sébastien for the tip!

Boys Before Flowers: F4 Special Edition (Parts 1 & 2)

As Stephen Colbert would say, what a croc-tease. The much-touted “F4 Special Edition” music drama, which follows up with the F4 boys five years after the end of the drama, was finally released online on April 28 — but only the first half (or two “episodes”). The second half comes out next week.

Each F4 member gets his own “episode,” and first two feature Kim Bum’s Yi-jung character and Kim Joon’s Woo-bin.

The music drama features a total of nine songs, some of which were sung by the actors themselves, like Kim Hyun-joong’s “Thing Called Happiness” (행복이란), Kim Bum’s “I’m Going to Meet You Now” (지금 만나러 갑니다), and Kim Joon’s “To Make Empty” (비워내기).

Yi-jung’s segment opens with narration by Woo-bin, and the song featured throughout is Kim Bum’s song — I’m actually quite impressed with the vocals. I’m less impressed with how so much of the footage is old clips from the series.

Intro & Episode 1 (Yi-jung):

The intro:

Woo-bin: “Are there things that don’t change even after time has passed? How many springs have come to our school full of memories? And our special classroom — it’s here that we began our friendships and loves. Gu Jun-pyo, Yoon Ji-hoo, So Yi-jung, Song Woo-bin, F4.”

The voice at the end asks: “Sunbae. I’m a little late, aren’t I?”
Yi-jung asks, “Will you be my flower forever?”

Episode 2 (Woo-bin):

In this segment, Woo-bin starts by asking, “What’s your reason?” The girl tells him, “I’m tired of your consideration.” (It insinuates that she feels suffocated by his constant attention, like he’s hovering.)

The song here features lyrics written by Kim Joon and rapper Rhymer. The title “To Make Empty” refers to emptying oneself of the pain following a failed love.

I suppose the point is to reiterate how Woo-bin’s function in F4 was always to remind us of the value of their friendship, but who else is bummed out that he finally gets a girl — only to be dumped so unceremoniously?

Missing Kim Kibum Spotted

Since the launch of Sorry Sorry and the third Super Junior album, Kim Kibum has been missing out on all the action. Last we heard, he was working on his acting skills and taking some time off for himself. Now a poster / advertisement photo floating around on the internet may shed some light on the whereabouts of the missing Kibum. The poster shows a long haired Kim Kibum dressed in bright colorful clothes and posing with actresses Lee Yeon Hee, Kim Minji, Choi Ara, and actors Yoo Seung Ho and Kim Bum from Boys Over Flowers.

Although the poster is seen throughout Seoul, fans can’t figure out what this is for or where this came from. Just the words ‘WE START’ and the the date May 2, 2009 are printed on the poster. Rumor is that it is for a LG mobile phone commercial.

But speculation is clear that we’ll be seeing Kibum in other activities such as theater plays, movies, ads, or drama. Kim Kibum’s fans are already expecting a lot out of the missing Super Junior member. Fans hope for a love story because of the actresses Kibum is posing with. Could he be headed down a path as leading romance actor?

SM officials previously had said Kibum would not be leaving SuJu and would not participate in any dramas. They still claim that his future in acting is uncertain.

After the success of DBSK and Super Junior in Japan, it’s Shinee’s turn now to make a debut in Japan. KJnet officially announced that Shinee will be visiting Japan on the 10th of August to have a fan event at Nigano Sun Plaza Hall in Tokyo.Aside from the said event,  Shinee will be releasing an album in Japan…

Joo Ji Hoon’s Job Going Under

Joo Ji Hoon‘s future in showbiz is becoming more and more unclear after his recent problem with drugs.

He was recently spotted for a part in the new drama Tokyo Tower opposite actress Kim Ji Soo and had even gotten to the contract signing stage. However, it is possible that the contract will be dissolved due to his involvement in the scandal.

Officials involved in the making of Tokyo Tower stated, “Although Joo Ji Hoon’s casting wasn’t complete, it is true that it had came down to the contract stage. We are also very shocked over this scandalous event. The producers are now seriously considering his appearance in the drama. Truthfully, wouldn’t his appearance in the drama be rather difficult? But there will be no problems with the filming of the drama itself. With or without the problem of Joo Ji Hoon’s scandal, we plan to keep going and will start filming by end May or early June.” Even though the drama problem wasn’t really mentioned earlier, it was pretty obvious that they would have difficulty casting Joo Ji Hoon in it after this.

His movie Antique Bakery is being pulled early from Japanese theaters and his movie The Naked Kitchen is obviously not going to make it. Even his sold out fan meetings on the 15th & 16th in Osaka and Yokohama have been canceled (read that lawsuits incoming). He really has no one else to blame but himself for this problem though. No one told him that taking drugs and getting caught was going to be helpful for his career.

Kim Jung Hoon Enlists

And another one joins the army. Singer turned actor Kim Jung Hoon reported on the afternoon of 28th April to the 306 reserve army unit in Euijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province in front of 500 Korean, Chinese, & Japanese fans. He had a short fan meeting to which he promised to return healthy in 2 years. Kim Jung Hoon debuted with Choi Jung Won in 2000 as UN until the duo disbanded in 2005. Afterward, Kim Jung Hoon became an actor and were seen in dramas Goong (Princess Hours) and Witch Yoo Hee.

▲ How do you feel enlisting?

I feel I’m enlisting rather suddenly. For 2~3 years I wasn’t active in Korea but got good experiences abroad. I will return healthy in 2 years to show off a better side of myself. Thank you for supporting me. I will see you in 2 years.

▲ 2 years later, what do you plan to do? The reason you’re releasing your first solo album this year?

I have a lot of ambition in acting. Of course I will have to think about it again after two years but I want to show my acting ability. The reason I decided to release a domestic album was because I wasn’t able to be very active in Korea and as I was thinking of a present for my fans, I quickly prepared this album. But I recorded it and prepared it to the best of my ability. So please anticipate it.

▲ Who is the last celebrity you met with?

In the recording studio, I met Hong Kyung Min. He told me many good stories.

▲ Your state of mind right now?

Clear. It’s a place where all Korean guys have to go. I will make it so I can enjoy it for the next 2 years.

▲ The last person you met?

I just ate dinner with my mother. I regret not being able to spend more time with my mother and father before coming.

▲ The thing you want to do most after enlisting?

Shooting a gun and throwing a grenade

▲ Are you worried about your age?

I heard if you’re old, they let many things slide. So I feel less burdened. But I’m going to try my best as to not hear that I am old. Thank you everyone for coming even though I enlisted rather suddenly. I will return after finishing my duty.

Kim Hyun Joong Sports a New Look

Kim Hyun Joong of SS501 and Boys Over Flowers fame is sporting a new look by changing up his hairstyle. His hair is now dark and much shorter than before. I’ve been re-watching Boys Over Flowers and I must say that this new hairstyle looks much better than the long orange hair he had in the drama.

His hairstyle isn’t the only thing that’s changed. According to a newsen interview with fellow SS501 member Kim KyuJong, it’s been revealed that Kim Hyun Joong’s personality has somewhat changed after the filming of Boys Over Flowers. Where as before, Hyun Joong was somewhat brash and blunt, he’s a bit more subdued and laid back now. Some people don’t like change, but in this case I think it’s a change for the better.
