Gong Yoo completes military service

Gong Yoo, the heartthrob from 2007 hit TV series “Coffee Prince”, returned home for the first time in nearly two years as he completed South Korea’s mandatory military service on Tuesday.

“I feel good and relieved, I want to travel and I miss my mother’s homemade cooking,” the 30-year-old actor told reporters and fans after leaving the Ministry of National Defense where he had served as an officer under the Defense Agency for Public Information Services, a special promotion unit under the ministry.

“I also learned many things about living as a member of an organization and thought a lot about human relationships,” the actor said of his military life which started in mid-January last year.

Gong Yoo also thanked his fans for their support while he was serving the country. “The many letters and gifts my fans sent gave me great energy,” he said to some 250 fans from Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Thailand who had turned up at the ministry to greet the actor.

Gong Yoo had appeared in several films and dramas since his debut in 2001 but rose to stardom with “Coffee Prince” which won him an award for excellence at the 2007 MBC Drama Awards.

SS501 and Hong Kong girls are “just friends”

Back in August, SS501 took some time off from their Japanese concert promotions by vacationing in Hong Kong. Two of the members of SS501, Kim Hyun Joong and Heo Young Saeng were spotted getting into a cab with 2 random Hong Kong girls.

The media circulated rumors that the boys went to Hong Kong for “extracurricular activities,” that they secretly flew into Hong Kong for a secret get-away vacation with females. While DSP Entertainment denied the claims and stated, “It’s just tabloid / paparazzi work. SS501 was tired from the Budokan concerts in Japan and they went to Hong Kong to unwind with 8 friends that they knew as kids. It’s just the Hong Kong media twisting the story around from the photos showing the two females getting into a cab with Hyun Joong and Young Saeng.”

Well earlier today, the SS501 members were guests on MBC’s Golden Fishery and addressed the issue by stating that the women “were just friends who happen to live in Hong Kong.”

Brian reveals 2nd solo album jacket

Brian, who is due to release his second solo album in three years, has revealed his jacket pictures.

Brian is planning to challenge a new territory called ‘Club Music’, breaking the mold of the standard ballad singer, in his new album being released on the 10th. The jacket pictures are composed with strong still shots combining a completely different hairstyle with ‘black and red’.

Also, Brian included english versions of three songs considering the simultaneous international release, and will showcase club tunes of 13 songs which are sensual and danceable. It is due to be released simultaneously in the United States and Canada, through America’s biggest online music store iTunes.

An official from Sony Music Japan, who contributed towards BoA’s successful America entry, held a meeting and monitoring of Brian’s english version songs in mid November, and is said to have offered many high praises, stating that “He has plenty potential to becoming a world star, with his long-time experience in the field and excellent communication abilities, and outstanding vocal skills that is capable of various expressions.”
